BenchZone DDR2 Roundup

With DDR2 memory finally spreading its legs over the old DDR1, both Intel and AMD moved on to DDR2 for quite a long time, and they will continue using DDR2 for at least 6 months more before making their first steps into DDR3.
Nowadays we've got DDR2 memories with relaxed timings at frequencies well past DDR2-1000, and some with tight timings and rated for DDR2-800 / DDR2-1000.
We are currently collecting several DDR2 2GB Memory Kits in our labs for a massive round-up, but we decided to give you this 4-way DDR2 2GB Memory Kits round-up for a start.

In this round-up you'll find four memory kits, the Corsair Dominator 9136C5D, the Super Talent T1000UX2G5, the OCZ PC2-6400 Special Operations Edition Urban Elite and the Crucial CT1286AA667.8FE.The first two kits are using the well-known Micron D9 ICs, and the OCZ uses ProMOS ICs, while the Crucial value kit uses Micron D9HNL ICs.We've tested our kits on Intel's Core 2 Duo platform ofcourse, since most people are looking for a Core 2 system nowadays because of the big performance ( and overclocking ) leap over the de-throned Athlon 64 x2 family.
With Intel's new prices you can easily build a high performance computer without emptying your bank account, a Core 2 Duo E4300, 2GB DDR2-800 RAM, and a good low-cost motherboard can be bought with 350$.

Read the following pages thoroughly as our testing methodology focuses on the RAMs performance itself and does not involve any CPU frequency changing, etc.
